AVENIDA DE ALTARES

Avenida de Altares is a free Día de los Muertos cultural celebration at the Mexican Heritage Plaza, featuring an immersive altar walk that stretches from Alum Rock Avenue and King Road to the entrance of Highway 101 before culminating inside La Plaza. Once inside, visitors enjoy Día de los Muertos–themed activities including face painting, tarot readings, artisan vendors, and a cemetery installation. The event also features a Catrina & Catrín Costume Contest, where participants showcase creative interpretations of traditional Día de los Muertos attire.

For Avenida de Altares, I created reels, graphics, and copy that highlighted the cultural experience, promoted the costume contest, and helped guide community members through key event details. My work captured the spirit of the celebration while encouraging engagement and participation across all activities.
